What is DATA? Streamr's data network
Streamr is a peer-to-peer network for real-time data streams. Publishers and subscribers use nodes to receive and relay messages. Data distribution does not guarantee that every message is true: assess transport performance separately from the accuracy of its source.
Official documentation identifies DATA as the network token, and Binance notices associate it with Streamr. It is not every project containing the word Data, nor ownership of a dataset. Confirm the full name, official sources and relevant network.
Sponsor, Operator and Delegator roles
Sponsors fund streams, Operators run nodes and provide service, and Delegators back operators. The official guide separates sponsorship from earning node rewards: funding a service budget is not an ordinary deposit or an automatic yield position.
For a sensor-data stream, assess publishing frequency, subscriber demand and delivery quality before considering sponsorship. A delegator instead examines an operator's availability and rules. These roles have different objectives and funding risks.
DATA networks, incentives and delegation
Documentation describes DATA as an Ethereum-native ERC-20 with representations on other networks and incentive operations on Polygon. A token's existence on a network does not establish exchange deposit support. Testnet assets must not be mistaken for tradable tokens.
Sponsorship contracts provide incentives under specific rules. Operator results depend on participation, performance and allocation conditions; delegators also face operator fees and withdrawal terms. Holding DATA on an exchange does not run a node or create a delegation position.
DATA node, withdrawal and deposit risks
Node participation involves downtime, penalties, contracts and operating costs. Delegation can introduce queues or liquidity constraints. Assess reward funding, duration and operator performance rather than extrapolating one campaign into a fixed long-term return.
A Binance notice stopped DATA deposits and withdrawals on BNB Smart Chain and Polygon from January 16, 2026, while referring users to other supported networks. This dated notice is not a complete current platform matrix: recheck the receiving exchange before transferring.
DATA: spot and perpetual markets
Only markets returned by official exchange APIs are listed; a coin is not assumed to have both spot and perpetual markets on every venue.

What is the difference between spot and perpetuals?
Spot trading buys or sells the asset itself. A perpetual is a derivative position and does not deliver withdrawable tokens. Funding, margin and liquidation risks apply; availability also depends on your region and account.

DATA Frequently asked questions
Is sponsoring a Streamr stream the same as staking for rewards?
No. Sponsorship provides a stream's service budget. Earning node or delegation rewards requires the corresponding role and rules.
Does holding DATA mean I own a dataset?
No. Token ownership, transport and permission to use particular data are different. Publishers and applications determine data access.
Can I deposit DATA from Polygon directly to Binance?
Do not infer support from the network name. A dated Binance notice stopped DATA deposits and withdrawals on that network; verify the current deposit page before sending.
Does Streamr guarantee that delivered information is accurate?
Transport and content authenticity are separate. Applications still need source, permission and validation checks; decentralization alone does not make every message correct.
